For Pregnancy & Postpartum
Naturopathic medicine can help support you as you navigate each new trimester, and into the “fourth trimester” of postpartum.
Together we can implement gentle yet effective strategies to support your babe’s growth and development, to address common pregnancy concerns and to prepare you for labour.
These strategies can include nutrition, acupuncture, herbs, supplements and lifestyle shifts.
This collaborative and holistic approach can help foster confidence and wellbeing as you approach each new chapter of pregnancy and postpartum.
First Trimester (Week 1-12)
Strong focus on ensuring nutritional adequacy, through diet and supplementation. Tools like acupuncture, herbs and supplements can be used to address specific concerns at this time (such as nausea, insomnia, anxiety, pain, fatigue).
Second Trimester (Week 13-26)
We will continue to ensure nutritional adequacy and focus on pregnancy optimization. Keeping a close eye on things like iron levels, thyroid function and blood pressure. We will assess the risk for conditions such as anemia, hypothyroidism and preeclampsia, and can implement strategies to reduce their likelihood.
Third Trimester (Week 27-Birth)
Preparing the body and mind for labour. We will discuss birth plan and supports for labour prep.
“Fourth Trimester” (Postpartum)
Nourishing mom and baby in the early days. We can also discuss and address postpartum concerns or symptoms (such as anxiety, depression, mastitis, pain and healing post birth). We can provide supports for baby’s health, as well as address any concerns (like reflux, colic, eczema)
