Movement is an essential part of our health and well-being. Without the ability to move freely and comfortably, a person’s quality of life begins to diminish exponentially. Activities you once enjoyed become intolerable, simple everyday tasks become strenuous, and you begin to feel more and more confined by your condition.
As physiotherapists and health practitioners, our goal is to help you make the shift towards a better quality of life.
We chose the name Shift Physiotherapy because we understand how significant this shift is to the clients we serve.
Additionally, our name represents our approach to physiotherapy—we’re passionate about deviating from conventional models and embracing a more contemporary practice, prioritizing one-on-one, individualized care and a collaborative clinic environment.
At Shift Physiotherapy, we refuse to let sprains, strains, and pains hold our patients back.
You can shift toward healing... and you don't have to do it alone.
Shift Forward With Healing
Specializing in Orthopedic & Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy
Providing Individualized Physiotherapy Treatments
We work one-on-one with our patients, thoroughly analyzing the cause of their discomforts, their medical history, their current mindset, and their personal physiotherapy goals. We believe the most accurate and effective treatment plans are those made after a transparent and trusting client/practitioner relationship has been established.
When you choose us as your Edmonton physiotherapy clinic, you can be certain you’ll be treated with respect, empathy, and compassion. We’re here to listen to your concerns, inform you about treatment options, and involve you in your individualized, evidence-based rehabilitation program.
To put it simply? Our patients aren’t just case files in a cabinet. They’re people we genuinely care about. And that’s a statement we stand by with pride.

We’re Ready to Welcome You
We strive everyday to make our clinic a warm, welcoming space for our clients. In fact, it all starts before you even arrive— we’re located just north of the downtown core and our building offers free parking for your convenience. We are also wheelchair accessible.
As you step inside you’ll notice how bright and airy our office is before being greeted by one of our friendly, upbeat team members.
And last but not least, we share an office building with an obstetrician-gynecologist’s office and a local pharmacy, reducing the number of healthcare-related commutes you need to make.
Our clients are always our first consideration and we’re here to make your experience the best it can be.
What to Expect During Your First Physiotherapy Visit
We make every effort to ensure new clients are welcomed into our practice in a consistent and streamlined manner.
When you arrive for your first assessment, you can expect the following:
A One-On-One Conversation
Your physiotherapist will speak with you in a private or semi-private setting (depending on the nature of your visit) to learn more about your medical history, your current symptoms, and your personal health goals.
1.
A Physical Assessment
After your physiotherapist has had a chance to get to know you better, they will conduct a physical assessment to more accurately assess your movement and level of function, as well as the location of any pain or discomfort.
Your physiotherapist will be mindful of your current condition at all times. If a movement is difficult or uncomfortable for you, you always have the option to decline a treatment (or ask your physiotherapist to adjust their pressure, approach, etc, to accommodate your tolerance).
2.
An Individualized Physiotherapy Treatment Plan
Based on the findings of your initial assessment, your physiotherapist will put together a personalized plan with treatment options that are best suited to your needs. They will review this plan with you in detail, providing you with an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
From here, one of our friendly and accomodating receptionists will help you schedule your appointments and ensure you have all the information you need for your first treatment.
